SHE SAID:
Time to invest in a bigger vehicle. An old school bus, perhaps. Or maybe a church van. And a couple of leashes. And maybe a muzzle.
Yup, you guessed it, summer is here. Kiddos are out of school, driving me insane, making me wish I had a velcro wall to attach them to. You know, I have thought a lot about this velcro wall thing. I really think I could engineer one of those puppies...
Trying to keep the boys busy is a full time job in itself, which leads me back to the bigger vehicle thing. When I was younger I had to sit on the hump in the backseat of my mom's Chevette in between my 2 older brothers. And they needed.. ahem.. lots of "room". (If you have brothers, you know what I'm talking about) And they always had to make a big deal out of it. And when my sister came along, the 4 of us were shoved in the backseat of that car like sardines in a can. That might be why mom stopped having children after 4. There was no way a carseat would fit in the hatchback of that car. No way.
So, I now own a Ford Focus. Great great car. Just not big enough for us anymore. Between Nick's car seat and the boys...
HE SAID:
Trust me, the car isn't the only thing too small around here. Let's start with the house. Two boys per bedroom, and one that will be in need of a room soon. And of course what about being able to watch a little television now and again. There is so much background noise that some days Maria just gives up on the idea all together. On top of that with all the bicycles around here we really need about 10 acres just to keep it from looking like a used bike lot!
But seriously, with the new government mandates on cars that they are wanting we will need to hire a fleet of the little matchboxes to get the entire family around. How's that for saving the environment. But of course we'd be creating jobs by hiring drivers! You be the judge.
In the meantime I'll be looking for a nice BIG Ford Expedition so we can head out to the beach in just one vehicle... together.
